Last week we were very pleased to receive confirmation that Jeff Murdoch, one of Emjay Insurance Brokers’ Directors, was one of three finalists for the Broker of the Year Award for the NSW/ACT region.
Jeff has been part of the team at Emjay Insurance Brokers for nearly a decade, joining us in 2006 after 17 years’ experience in broking, and a further 10 years before that as an underwriter.
As well as playing a significant role in helping our company grow, it is what Jeff gives back to the broking industry as a whole that helps set him apart. He is a passionate advocate for young brokers, and is heavily involved in staff professional development at Emjay, and in the wider industry as a long-time supporter of the National Insurance Brokers Association’s mentoring program.
His charitable work includes staging the Emjay Insurance Brokers Charity Golf Day each year to raise money for the Communities Assist charity, which helps to improve the welfare of AIDS-devastated communities in Sub-Saharan Africa. He also completed the Kokoda Trek in 2013 as part of an insurance industry team raising money for army veterans.
Jeff is widely respected across the insurance industry, and much loved by his clients, who know he can be relied to go into bat for them to secure the best cover and claims outcomes possible.
The winner of the award will be announced on Friday 10 July, and will then go on to represent the NSW/ACT region in the national final of the award, which will be announced in September.
We’ve got our fingers crossed for Jeff, but whether he wins or not it won’t change to his approach to broking and how he puts his clients’ needs at the heart of everything he does.
